Rhinoplasty Journey – By Mr Patrick Walsh
Any surgical or invasive procedure carries risks. Before proceeding, you should seek a second opinion from an appropriately qualified health practitioner.
If you are considering undergoing rhinoplasty surgery, watch our video blog on a patient’s rhinoplasty journey to see what is involved. This operation was performed by our surgeon, Mr Patrick Walsh in a Melbourne hospital. The patient was more than happy to allow us to document her journey which includes pre and post-operative images, image analysis using image manipulation technology, patient interviews of before and after surgery as well as photos of the progressive healing stages during the initial post-operative period.
The image analysis on the rhinoplasty journey shows that the surgery requires a lot of planning prior to the procedure, a lot of discussion and good communication between the patient and the surgeon to ensure both patient and surgeon are on the same page when it comes to the aesthetic aims of the surgery. By using image manipulation technology, there is great improvement in communicating exactly what the patient would like changed and allows a visual interpretation of what is surgically possible from the surgeon’s point of view.
The patient’s rhinoplasty journey also shows that the patient must be prepared mentally with what they would like to change, physically in terms of good health and socially in terms of having time off work to recover and protect their healing nose.
If you have thought about rhinoplasty surgery for a while, it may be time for a consultation to see whether you would be a good candidate or not. Mr Walsh consults with his potential rhinoplasty patients in his St Kilda rooms which includes a full facial analysis. Since this video, Mr Walsh now uses 3D imaging during his consultations to demonstate what is surgically possible. For more information or to book a consultation phone: (03) 95100714.
